I came from a family of quilters.  I never sewed a stitch until I was in my 50's and got my first machine and got my daughter one for her college graduation.  That first year we made quilts, bags, table runners, and a host of things just to be sewing.  Now I've come to realize I like to pick out fabric more than I like quilting.  Oh my gosh the colors and textures of fabric just sucked me into a creative zone I couldn't get out of.  Now I have a stash of fabric and don't quilt anymore.  Maybe someday long after I retire and have more time but for now....I will just impersonate quilts by painting them and imagine sitting with the ladies and gents of my family and friends enjoying the company.  Oh my gosh the colors!
